Skype for Business

Skype for Business is a messaging and communications tool that is already available to everyone at the University. Please note that Skype for Business is the enterprise version of the consumer Skype product.

  • Skype for Business can be used to send an instant message, create a video or audio call or share a screen. Audio and video calls can be created with multiple participants. One major difference between Skype for Business and Zoom is that Zoom lets you create meetings using phone lines. Skype for Business relies on participants using computer audio.
  • Skype for Business's instant messaging is an excellent way to communicate with individuals or groups via a text-only instant message. Many offices use this function within their departments and with others on campus.
  • Skype for Business apps are available for most mobile devices and should already be installed on all University computers. If you need Skype for Business on a personal computer you can download it at https://portal.office.com/account#installs.
  • All campus users are already listed in the application so it is easy to connect with each other.
